Meet Dr. Gen
Orthodontics is not just my profession; it is a huge part of my life. The ability to help so many wonderful people achieve their goal of attaining a healthy and beautiful smile is an incredible source of energy and inspiration. Artist by nature and scientist by education, I chose to become an orthodontist because of my passion for helping people change and improve their lives. I strongly believe that a beautiful smile plays a part in one’s success. Every smile that I treat is an opportunity to make a positive impact on someone’s life. As I help my patients, they help me as well. I meet many fantastic people every day who help me grow and enrich my life.
Education and Continuing Education
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Case Western Reserve University, as well as my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. I attended the State University of New York at Buffalo where I earned my Master of Science degree and Certificate of Proficiency in Orthodontics. I was awarded the Pierre Fouchard Award, the Teledyne Waterpik Award in Prosthodontics, the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration Award, and the Academy of General Dentistry Award. I am actively involved in a number of local dental and orthodontic study groups and attend numerous continued education courses to stay abreast of current techniques and developments.
From the first day I started practicing orthodontics, I wanted to create a practice where patients and the referring community dentists felt so good about the quality of care and personalized service that they would be compelled to refer their friends and patients. This philosophy helped attract a wonderful staff and an amazing family of patients. Our staff wants to better others and be better themselves. We foster a culture of enthusiasm among our team and patients and work to achieve our goals as an open, honest group of very special individuals who genuinely care about the process and the results. We simply want to be the best!
I hold memberships at the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Great Lakes Society of Orthodontists, the Cleveland Society of Orthodontists, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society.
In the Community
It is extremely important for me to stay involved in the community where I proudly work and live. I have been involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the past 10 years and currently serve on the Board of Trustees of the Greater Cleveland Dental Society. I am a member of the American Association of Orthodontics Foundation which supports orthodontic education and research and am a past-president of the Cleveland chapter of the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity.
Outside the Office
I currently reside in Solon with my wife, Elina, our daughters, Isabella and Amelia, and our son, Ilan. When I’m not spending time with my family, I enjoy skiing, exercising, traveling, and oil painting.
